Description
Selling my 1979 Rolex Datejust 36mm with rare gray "ghost" dial. The only reason I'm selling this unique watch is because I found a similar watch with a sigma dial. But I was still on the fence about selling this beauty because, unlike my 1603, this 16030 has the 3035 caliber movement which purrs at 28,800 beats per hour, is known for reliability, and has quickset date function. Which makes this vintage watch easy to use and maintain. This isn't just any ol' Datejust, this is the highly sought after, rare, gray/mocha dial. In some lighting it looks like a milk tea - beautiful creamy mocha hue. At other angles and lighting, it looks gray. And of course, the "ghost" refers to the white lettering disappearing in certain lighting. The lume plots are crisp and the "door stop" hour markers look so sharp. It was serviced by a bricks and mortar watch dealer in Virginia this year! Running like a champ. The glass is in great shape, case shows only minimal signs of wear, and the bracelet has very little stretch. If you haven't had a Datejust on your wrist, let me tell you, they are the perfect watch: ideal weight, not too thick, wears slightly larger than 36mm (IMHO), and can be sporty or dressy. Can't go wrong! I am a novice watch collector who needs to let go of a few beauties. I will do my best to offer good customer service. I only ship inside the continental US. Good luck!
